Toyoda Machinery is a supplier of CNC horizontal machining centers, CNC tool room, general purpose and production grinders, industrial robots, flexible machining cells and transfer lines. They have more than 30 distributors across North America.

They were originally the machine tool department of Toyota Motor Company. In 1939, Toyota Motors spun off its machine tool department as an independent company and constructed a plant in Kariya, Japan. Now they are one of the largest producers of cylindrical grinding machines and other machine tools.

Toyoda Machinery USA was established in 1977. They now have over 170 employees in their two U.S. facilities in the Chicago and Detroit metro areas. These centers have demonstration areas, engineering, training classrooms, an extensive spare parts inventory, as well as sales and service departments.

The Cutting Machine Division is based in Arlington Heights, Illinois, and is the Toyoda Machinery USA headquarters. This office has a range of horizontal machining centers and factory automation systems available.

The Grinding Machine Division is based at a 70,000 square foot plant in Wixom, Michigan. That plant has a wide array of production cylindrical grinders including CNC and standard machines, as well as specialized CAM and crankshaft grinders.

Toyoda's Milling Products has an assortment of horizontal spindle machining centers. From 40-taper machines in 1969 ipm feeds to 50-taper production platforms with work areas of 65 x 55 x 45 inches. They are available with high-speed spindles, high-torque direct drive or geared head spindles, tool magazines, fourth or fifth axis tables, and a host of mechanical and control options.

The Grinding Division manufacture general-purpose tool room machines, multi-task grinders, high-production and special crank and cam machines. All grinders start with massive ribbed, cast iron beds for rigidity and thermal stability. They have a patented Toyoda STAT® wheel spindle bearing, a hybrid combination of hydro-static and hydrodynamics to reduce wear.
